La Fita Ancestral is a pure and honest expression of the vineyard.From the hands of Jaume and Marc Torrallardona at Bodega La Fita, this sparkling wine is crafted using the ancestral method – the oldest and most natural way of producing bubbles.Made exclusively from Macabeo grapes grown in the Betes vineyard (planted in 1991, Can Patomàs, Sant Jaume ses Oliveres), this limited edition cuvée reflects both tradition and resilience in the face of a challenging vintage. In Penedès, the 2024 vintage unfolded under the strain of continued drought and intense summer heat. Rainfall was scarce, and yields fell below average. Yet from this adversity came resilience: the surviving grapes, though fewer in number, developed remarkable concentration and vibrant acidity, the result of smaller berries and a slower, more measured ripening. Despite the challenges, 2024 revealed wines of impressive freshness and quality - a true reflection of the region’s enduring character. TASTING NOTESLively and precise, this sparkling Macabeo offers fine bubbles, crisp acidity, and a mineral backbone.
